How Does Social Embeddedness Affect Farmers’ Adoption Behavior of Low-Carbon Agricultural Technology? Evidence From Jiangsu Province, China

Agricultural carbon emissions, which are the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in China, not only place great pressure on emission reduction but also seriously affect food security and sustainable development agriculture. As farmers direct users cultivated land main adopters agricultural technology, their adoption behavior low-carbon technology directly determines its promotion subsequent reduction. It is theoretical practical significance to analyze farmers’ influencing factors. Based social embeddedness theory survey data 688 Jiangsu Province, this study applied a logistic model impact government support, cognition, capital, personal characteristics, family characteristics technology. The results showed that (1) 58.72% have adopted such needs be further improved; (2) support cognition had significantly positive influences behavior; (3) capital an important factor affecting decisions, where trust, networks, norms play significant role promoting technology; (4) party membership household-contracted farmland area Therefore, continue developing agriculture, it recommended strengthen raise price products, environmental supervision, build embedded environment according local conditions, improve enrich norms, give full guiding exemplary capital. Additionally, reinforce education training awareness regarding thereby them actively adopt these technologies.
